Carroll County Industrial Park

The Carroll County Industrial Park is a fully developed 100-acre facility. Wildwood Commerce Park is a collaborative project among Carroll County, the City of Galax, and Grayson County through the Blue Ridge Crossroads Economic Development Authority. BRCEDA made its initial purchase of the industrial park site in 2011 and development has progressed since that time. Wildwood is one of seven “megasites” in Southwest and Southside Virginia and is one of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s strategic sites. Today, the site includes 270 acres with 115 currently graded acres, located immediately at Exit 19 of I-77, thirteen miles south of I-81, twenty-four miles north of I-74, and seventy-five miles north of I-40. Wildwood is located within HUB and Virginia Enterprise Zones and offers superior interstate access. A regional general aviation airport is located within 2 miles.

Due diligence studies(environmental, wetlands, cultural resources, geotechnical) are complete and clear sites 2, 3 & 4 for development. Site 1 due diligence is also completed and ready to be permitted for development.

Utilities- Completion of all public utilities- water, wastewater, fiber communications- and an access road is scheduled for mid-2014. Appalachian Electric Power is scheduling extension of distribution improvements to provide a 34.5kV alternate feed circuit during 2013 and 2014. Carroll County is currently designing the extension of natural gas service to Wildwood from the tapping station located approximately two miles west of the site.
